Hello, I recently had an accident with my laptop (dell xps m170, 17.0" wuxga truelife.) Me and a friend removed the panel and saw that it is an lg philips and LP171WU1. The thing is when im searching for a lcd panel like this I find it but at the end of LP171WU1 theres always something like (tl)(a1) or (a4)(k6) etc. I'm thinking the correct model for my laptop is the (tl)(a1). It is 1920x1200 also. Anyways looking for someone to help and confirm this, or if im totally of to guide me to the right thing. I will continue to search as well. thanks!

Hi i have had to replace a similar panel, i do still have this unresolved after buying the wrong panel. Through speaking to alot of lcd panel specialists they say the Dells are the worst for incompatibility (i found out the hard way). I have a Dell Inspiron 9400 the panel that needs replacing is LP171WU1 (a4) (k6) i also think the dell part number is DF028. Whatever advice you get from people, take it with a pinch of salt unless you actually see the replacement panel in your laptop working (1st thing to check is the increments to change the brightness).
Do not ignore the numbers in brackets they are just as important as the rest of the part number. Now if anybody knows where i can get a LG/Philips LP171WU1 (A4)K6) panel from a UK Seller please let me know. As for Kincade good luck in your search you'll need it.
