faster ram, slow board

Hi,

This is an easy one (but not for me). I have a ecs k7s5a, xp2000+ and 500mb of sdram.

This board can also use ddr ram, so i want to upgrade. Pc2100 is the fastest supported (i think), my question is can i buy faster ram (pc2700 ect) and run it at a slower speed for when, in the future i get a better motherboard and cpu, as the prices are all very similar.

Yes, you can buy as fast a ram as you want and it will run fine at any speed below it's rated speed.
