Hi, I am trying to attach my MN-710 adapter to my
computer. I recently ordered new software because the
utility software I had did not offer MN-710 as an option
to install (everything else was included on a checklist
when I first installed the program). The software that
microsoft sent me was the same! I somehow managed to
install it as a MN-510 but now it only connects up to 11
Mps instead of 54 Mps. I searched the software and the
software update at Microsoft for the driver for MN-710
but it is not there. Can anyone explain what is going on
and how I can install this properly?

Thank you!

Kaye

Dear Kaye,

You can provide yourself with the drivers. Go to:

http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/ [...] rking/15_D
ownloads.aspx

Select Basestation MN-700 and download...

MSBNDownload.exe (12.4MB)

Install it and the drivers will be in a folder of MBNU in
Program Files of your C:/ drive.

OR quoting Jason Tsang:

"Goto
http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/ [...] rking/15_D
ownloads.aspx

Select MN700
Download the msbndownload.exe file
Run the msbndownload.exe file
Accept the EULA
Save the files to "C:\MSBBN"
Once the files are extracted, cancel the setup.

Goto C:\MSBBN through Windows Explorer

Can you tell my what the name of the file would be? I
can't find anything with 710 in it anywhere in the
download, or the software, or my entire computer for that
matter.

Thanks!

Ok I was wrong, I found the driver under
C://windows/system32/drivers/mn710-51
but it isn't with the software OR the download...don't
know why.

Ok, now is there a way to get the MSBN program to
RECOGNIZE it and let me set up my computer with it
instead of having to pretend it is a different Microsoft
product? I have done the download and everything, still
won't work right.

Thanks!

Kaye

If you installed the broadband networking utility on the cd that came with
the MN710, the drivers will be in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Broadband
Networking.

The inf should be in the abovementioned directory (mn710.inf) and the driver
files should be in the Driver directory within the abovementioned directory.

Note that only the MS BNU version on the cd that came with the MN710 will
have the MN710 drivers.
