On or about 4/12/2005 9:28 AM, Paul O'Brian did proclaim:

Is it possible to have a spoiler for an issue of SPAG? I'll assume not,
and comment on Laurence Moore's review of "Paint!!!".

Discussing the aborted one-room competition, Laurence says, "Initially,
I thought that the one room concept would be impossible to work with (as
a writer) and surely dull to play (as a player). Where is the fun in
only describing events, characters and items in one room? Where is the
fun in not being immersed in hundreds of locations?"

Has no one ever seen a one-act play? They frequently have but one set,
yet no one thinks them dull to watch. I was deeply disappointed that
the one-room competition didn't get off the ground. I'd thought about
entering, but since I'd just written Endgame, the thought of two
one-roomers in a row was a bit much. Despite that, I find the idea of
having a single room is liberating, it just means that you can
concentrate even more on the scenery and NPCs, and not get involved in
maps and locked doors.

So, this is my vote for having a one-room competition again next year.
I promise that there will be at least one entry, from me.

I am disappointed as well, since I entered "Conan Kill Everything".
So, as I just blaringly announced, this One-Roomer is now found under

http://www.ifarchive.org/if-archive/unprocessed/ConanKillEverything.z5

and probably soon to be relocated to
http://www.ifarchive.org/if-archive/games/zcode/ConanKillEverything.z5
