This is a reminder that the deadline for voting on the Spring Thing
games is barely a week away. You have to vote by midnight EDT, May 1,
2005. And if you plan to wait until the last minute, note that you must
also confirm your votes before the deadline too.

So far only 12 people have voted, so I'm hoping a lot more are on the
way, waiting until the last week of voting.

Find out more at:

This means we may play games that Sunday, and must vote before Monday
arrives, right? Midnight deadlines always confuse me.

Any plans to collect written reviews or comments for the games on the
website itself? Since there aren't that many games I thought it might
be worthwhile.

Yeah, sorry. I should have said 11:59 PM. Of course, I'd start playing
before next Sunday, which is why I made that announcement when I did.

I won't vote, since I didn't manage to play all games until now and
don't want to rush through them now.

Sorry.

Two things:

First, a reminder: Spring Thing voting ends at 11:59 pm Eastern US time
this Sunday, May 1. But you knew that already.

Second, I had a voter ask me whether anyone's had any success running
Second Chance on a Mac. They said, "MacSCARE won't play it (though I
checked to make sure I had the latest version), and jasea just gets as
far as putting up a splash screen, but won't let me go any further."
Any comments?

Enjoy the games, and don't forget to vote.

I've received word from another person that Second Chance isn't
playable on a Mac. This is troubling, because it means that the game
violates the rules. Sigh.

I thought about this for a bit and decided not to disqualify the game.
I guess it just doesn't feel right to throw the game out at this stage
of the comp, not on those grounds. I probably should have gotten
somebody back in March to verify that the game was Mac-winnable. Since
David submitted his game in early March, he would have had plenty of
time to fix problems if they'd been detected, and no disqualification
would have been necessary. In any case, disqualifying the game just
doesn't feel right to me at this point, so Second Chance remains in the
comp.

Yeah, they can do that. The only thing is, I don't think the voting
page is set up to handle that, so people will have to just email me
their votes in that case. One person has done that already.

Given that, do people still have to give a score for all the games in
the comp to submit votes? Perhaps they could be allowed to skip Second
Chance?
