I'm having dell xps .please tell me how to use recovery to restore to factory settings

very easy, turn on your pc, the press F8 the choose recovery and then it will take you to another menu(its the recovery partition)
choose restore factory setting and the partition will do the rest.

i have a dell xps m1530 myself. so i know the deal

i want to upgrade the harddrive, will the same recovery method work? Or do i have to get ALL THE SOFTWARE DVD tO restore the softwares

no, if you change or upgrade you nolonger can use the built in recovery parition
you need to use CDs instead.

Thanks, is there a place were i can somehow get recovery CD, cause i kinda dont know were mine are.

when i format it do i lose the recovery partition or no??
