Hi guys,

I bought a external drive enclosure, and a 120gig hard drive. I installe the HD in the enclosure, with the setting of SLAVE DRIVE. When I turned on the power, and hooked it up to my computer via USB; it picks up that its a hard drive, and the fact the name of WD120.... But it isnt assigning it a drive letter. Anyone have any ideas; why this is happening? Please let me know, I am lost with this thing. thank you

I'm not young enough to know everything.

First of all, it's a Western Digital drive and should be set to "single". That means NO JUMPER is actively connecting any signal pins (they store the jumper on a couple ground pins from the factory). Second, you'll need to partition the drive before you can see it under "my computer", then format it.
