Hi there,

I'm looking at getting a new laptop and was hoping to get some help from people way more knowledgable then me. Thank you and here is my info.

Budget 3000+ (maybe more)

15” +

The higher the resolution I can get the better.

I’d really like more of a desktop replacement laptop.

This is where I am kind of torn. I’d either like amazing battery life or pretty much none haha. Does that make sense?

Yeah I’d like to play games on it, preferably with the settings high.

Other tasks would be movies, maybe a little video editing.

As far as HDD storage probably 500gb would be fine

Specific sites would be apple or maybe alienware or Falcon NW

I’d like to to be a 4 year or so laptop. I’m just starting on going back to school and that’s how long it would ideally last

As far as brands I prefer or some things I would like. I’d really like a blu-ray player (which pretty much eliminates the macbbok). I had an Alienware PC a long time ago (pre-Dell) and that worked really well for me for a long time. I’d like a solid laptop that can do just about anything but not be bogged . Price is really not a factor. I think the bottom-line for me is wanting a high-performance laptop that is put together solidly, with good components, and a reputation for quality.

This a computer that will be for school, but I’d like the potential to make it almost a second desktop at my home for working on either homework, or for play so I can pretty much relinquish my desktop to my wife and daughter.

Thanks a lot for your help.

I suggest you save some money coz 2000+ is enough to buy a gaming laptop with all high settings in games. No laptop can gurantee you play all games in four years (high settings) even you would pay 3000+.

ASUS W90Vp-X2
This one is good just 2000+ and with dual 4870 and 18' screen. Play all games in high setting without any problem.
