Realtek speakers not working

I have a creative realtek speaker system, one green cable plugged in the computer and back to a big speaker box. The two little R L speakers are also plugged in that big box. The creative sound level countrol is also plugged in that big black box a kind of very big speaker.

Why does the sound not work???

Check the settings in the sound options.

sometimes there's a power switch on the subwoofer (the big box); sometimes there are several volume knobs as well that control bass master and treble. Do you have 2 green plugs on the back of your computer (ie one from the mobo and one from a soundcard)? try updating your drivers. And of course make sure the settings under sound options are okay as area51reopened has said...
