I'm facing a dilemma

i can either choose between this laptop : http://www1.euro.dell.com/be/nl/th [...] ~ck=anavml
With an upgrade to a 1900x1200 full HD screen

Or the same laptop without the upgrade (thus 1440x900) and this monitor: http://accessories.euro.dell.com/s [...] sku=184917

Any advice would be welcome

Futhermore does anyone know what the max resolution on the VGA or HDMI output for this laptop is?

What are you going to do with the notebook?

Mostly Schoolwork, Online poker and some webdevelopment

For that, you'll appreciate the extra screen space of the second monitor. Having a lower-res monitor is also beneficial for use in web development. You won't be able to work anywhere, though - the extra monitor is not exactly portable.
