Dell Optiplex SX280

Hi all,

I have a Dell Optiplex SX280 and having loads of problems with it.

It started when the computer fan would kick in really loudly and then the computer would automatically shut down.

Now I can't even turn it on. When I press the ON button the power light flashes orange but it doesn't go beyond that point - the screen remains blank.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would lean towards a faulty power supply,but you can check the cmos battery also!

Mine (Optiplex GX 745) will do that if there is an external storage device connected to the front USB port. When I start the computer, I make sure that there is nothing plugged into the front USB port.
