Hi, I'm a WOW gamer I hope someone here can help me with my issue. I just got a new HP laptop (replacing my desktop) and i dont do much on it or run much on it except WOW. I am experiencing low FPS with just mild graphics settings in-game.
I am running it at a 1366 x 768 widescreen resolution. 32-bit color.
My laptop CPU specs are the following:
Model: HP DV6z
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit
CPU: AMD Athlon(tm) x2 Dual-Core QL-65 (2 CPUs), 2.1GHz
Memory: 3GB DDR2 667 MHz (2Dimm)
Video: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4530 512MB Dedicated
Internet: Comcast 20GB Cable
is my video card not good enough or do i not have enough ram? (considering my vista home uses 1.5 just idling with the few programs running in background, according to system process info.)
any help or feedback would be greatly appreciated, thanks
First, Vista isn't actually using 1.5GB of RAM. That number also includes a feature called Superfetch, where windows is caching your most commonly used programs in apprehension of you using them.
Your graphics card is on the weak side, but should be good enough for WoW. What are your temps like? And are you sure you have your machine in high performance mode?
