Connecting external hard drive to pc laptops

Hi
I have a Lacie external hard drive that I normally use on my MAC's...but I have to get some files off it onto a PC because I have to upload it to a software program that only runs on PC. I get it hooked up with a USB...and it recognized the lacie drive but I can't see the files. What am I doing wrong?\

You need additional software for window to recognize the Mac OS file system.

It might be easier just to use a memory stick if it's only a few files. Memory sticks are generally FAT32 which can be read and written to by both operating systems
