How to improve graphic windows 7 monitor 2001FP

Im using a Dell Studio Laptop, (1555) I think. My monitor is broken and Im using an external monitor Dell monitor 2001FP. Max graphics is 1024 x 768. I have updated all drivers and I want to improve graphics. Can I do that? Someone pls help me.

You should be able to get 1600x1200 for your screen. Did you change settings in CCC?
