The Samsung 245B is the first of what may be many 24" LCD monitors that uses a TN panel. Not sure if it is a 6-bit or 8-bit panel yet.

Sorry if this is basic, but what is a TN panel? I'm assuming that it is bad? Thanks.

Also read the section called Color Depth

All TN panels are 6-bit panels.

FYI: All 22" LCDs use 6-bit TN panels.

6-bit TN panels are preferred by gamers because of the response times (the low price helps too). But they have plenty of drawbacks as well. Too many for me to consider buying one.
