Battery not charging

Hello, just bought a new battery yet it's still not charging!!! help!!! it's an acer 5920

If the battery is not charging then it's either the battery is defective or the charger is. It is possible to get a brand new battery that is defective and won't charge, so it should be returned as defective. With all laptop batteries it does take a long time for the first charge to get to full capacity.
