Adding a 512MB to two 256MB? Good or Bad idea?

I have an Abit NF-7 v2.0 mobo (XP 2500 Barton @ 2.08 GHz) and have 2x256mb samsung pc2700 that i am very happy with. i would like to add more ram. what would be the best configuration? simply add a 512mb stick (the same samsung)... if so, which slots would you put the 512 vs. the 2x256? OR get 2 sticks of 512mb? thanks in advance for your information.

Good idea if you need more memory. Put the slowest dimm in slot 1 so that it gets the timings from that dimm.

Try the 512mb stick in slot 2.
