hey guys..

Basically im no newbie to the dvd burner world... i have backed up over 700 movies without any hassel.. Out of the blue when i back up a movie, (using SHRINK) the entire PC just SHUTS OFF... it will rip about 10 minutes in.. and then BOOM it's DOWN, like someone just pulled the plug out on me.

Now, I had Sp2 on here and had it on here for awhile, and about 2 weeks ago this dvd problem happened. SO, i thought it was Sp2 causing troubles so i uninstalled that and went back and re-installed sp1a.... just got done ripping and BOOM same damn problem. Please give me ideas on what the hell can be going wrong here.?

Any ideas, or comments would deff be appreciated, i need to get back into the burner game FAST!

Thanks your pal ROB

Well i got Great news... The Problem was the CPU - TEMP!!!!

there's something fishy going on here.

PC's about 2 1/2 yrs old.. Im running xp2800+ with a Volcano 7+

i was running the volcano 7+ on MEDium Speed and getting 67-69C!!
now i have it running on full blast jet engine sounding HIGH and im getting 46-48c...

I think it's time to reapply some new Artic Silver?

Yikes, with that high a CPU, I'd run atleast a Volcano 11. I have a 2400+ Thoroughbred-B and I use Volcano 12.

If you can handle the loud noise, it's a great cooler. Overclocked it to a 2600+, raised the temperture by only 2°C
