Problems synching a Tungsten E with 2 different PCs

There have been several other messages similar to mine but none of
them has answered my problem:

I recently bought a Palm Tungsten E to replace my Visor (Handspring)
which I lost. With the Visor and the Palm Desktop application
(version?) I had been syching with 2 PCs (at work and at home) without
any problems.

After completely removing the old Palm Desktop and installing the new
one (vers. 4.1.2) on the home PC I could sync normally. But after
installing Palm Desktop also on my work PC the application, after
synching, would always crash displaying the following message :

"PALM a causé une défaillance de page dans
le module MFC42.DLL à 018f:6c374045.

My home PC runs with Windows 98SE and at work I tried it with both Win
98SE and XP but Palm Desktop always crashes.

Palm support asked me to replace the MFC42.DLL file, then hard reset
the Palm, uninstall and reinstall completely Palm Desktop, download
the very newest version of Palm Desktop and many other things but
nothing helped. Finally I was guessing that the latest Palm Desktop
application has not been designed to work with 2 different PCs but
when reading other messages in this group I realised others don't have
any problems with this.

Any ideas?

Thanks a lot!

Chris

You are asking in the wrong group. This is a Warez Binary File-sharing
group. Try in one of the general discussion groups such as
comp.sys.palmtops.pilot or alt.comp.sys.palmtops.pilot.

1. What is this group and why is it here?

1.1 This group is for requesting and posting of Palm Warez only. If
you are having difficulty with a patched application, this is also
considered on topic. Any other questions or discussions not related to
Palm Warez should be directed to a general Palm discussion group,
there is a list of recommended ones in section 7.2. This FAQ has been
agreed to and amended by the regular members of the group.

Interesting. I wonder if there is a utility I have overlooked that
checks/fixes the integrity of the Address Book database, like dbScan
for the Date Book database?
