A dell inspiron laptop was connected via HDMI to a pioneer VSX-81TXV receiver. Working fine. On the front of the receiver their are buttons to change what input is currently being used. The receiver was changed from HDMI input to DVR/VCR input, then back to HDMI. When it goes back the laptop no longer goes through. This happened with 2 identical laptops. It as if the port on the computer was turned off or is no longer functional. What do I do to make it functional.

If it happened with two notebooks, the problem is more likely to be with the receiver (but you should test with a different notebook to be sure). At any rate, update the video drivers and see what happens.
