Gateway Laptops Preformance

I'd buy HP over Gateway. Acer owns both Gateway and E-machines and in all honesty Acer's quality leaves something to be desired. I bought an Acer laptop it lasted me a couple of years and then in the span of a few months the fan started going just happened one day it was incredibly grinding loud and then a couple weeks after that I think the second RAM slot died as it would BSOD with 4GB but boot fine with 2 and I tested both sticks and they were fine. Lastly It developed a spot of dead pixels down at the bottom of the screen (more annoyance than anything). I'd buy HP better quality for not much more money
