AMD Athlon XP 2500 'Barton' @ 1533mhz
Gigabyte GA-7VAXP Ultra (VIA KT400)
MSI Geforce 4 Ti4600-8x
512mb Kingston HyperX 333mhz DDR CAS 2

Within 24 hours i will have a brand new video card installed, an XFX GeForce 6600 GT.

I've always thought i might need more RAM. but I'm not sure if it's worth the $110 to buy another stick of 512mb (i would buy a stick identical to the one i already have).

I decided to borrow a Corsair stick of 512mb with the same specs as the kingston that i have. just to try it out.

I did some benchmarks and didn't notice any increase in proformance.

Played some EVE Online with the 1gb of RAM and didn't really notice any difference either.

has anyone else upgraded from 512mb to 1gb and noticed a large increase in speed of any kind?

Want to know beforei blow $110 on another stick of ram.

Thinking the money might be better spent upgrading my CPU to an XP 3000.

Yes, 1 gig is the ideal size for gaming performance.
