This year's IntroComp winners were recently announced in a grand
ceremony on ifMUD. Many thanks to those who attended!

There were seven introductions, all of which will hopefully receive the
real prize of IntroComp - feedback. If you played the games and had
thoughts, please share them via e-mail with the authors or post
reviews!

The top three introductions in this year's competition were as follows:

3rd place
The Fox, The Dragon, and The Stale Loaf of Bread
by David Welbourn

2nd place
Weishaupt Scholars: Prologue
by Michael C. Martin

1st place
Deadsville,
by William McDuff

Congrats! These three will have until July 23, 2006 to finish their
introductions, and as added incentive beyond the obvious (adoration of
their peers, for instance) they will receive money. Out of my pocket.
Lots of it, really. I'm offering $200 to the three of them, and I hope
they make me pay. $100 to William, $60 to Michael, $40 to David. I
look forward to paying up.

I look forward to reading everyone's reviews. Thank you to everyone
who provides feedback to the authors, either in public or private!

Regards,
Jacqueline A. Lott

Thanks, Jacqueline!

For those who might want to contact me, I apologize for foolishly
forgetting to put contact info in my entry. I can be contacted at
dswxyz (AT) look (DOT) ca. Thanks.

Some fairly brief Introcomp reviews off the top of my head; spoilery
and ill-structured.

If anybody wants to discuss any of this, I don't read Usenet much and
would prefer to be emailed.

Though this is not the final version, I thought I'd fix the bugs that
were in the comp version, and add the feelie map that I forgot to
include. Note this is not a 'finished' game, and not an attempt to get
the $100; I'll release a full version next year, hopefully. This is
just to fix the IntroComp versions problems.

Thanks for running the IntroComp, Jacqueline. You can put down the
fish. :)

Soon to be available at the IF Archive, I think, or you can follow the
link below.

I'm really looking forward to playing the update and can't wait for the
full version. This is looking, so far, like it's going to be the best IF
game I've played in a very long time.

Congrats!

I unfortunately did not get to vote in the IntroComp, but I'd like to
add that I really liked this game! I can't wait for the full version.

Maybe I'll figure out how to get that last lousy point some time.

Good job!
