I need a new monitor and have narrowed it down to these, all similar in price/specifications.

Acer: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824009107
Samsung 720: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824001084
Samsung 740: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824001072
Asus: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824236014
NEC: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824002311

While I can compare specifications easily enough based on the research I've done, the major problem is that I'm not at all familiar with brand quality when it comes to LCD monitors. It seems that all four of these brands are reputable, so based on specifications alone, I'm leaning towards the Acer. There are no customer reviews for it, but I'm assuming this is because it's a new build of an older product (which has been frequently reviewed: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16824009074).

Still, I wonder why it's so cheap compared to the others (especially the NEC/Asus). Is Acer simply lower quality? Are these numbers inflated? I can't find professional reviews out there, so I'm not sure what to ask, but any advice would be appreciated, as I need to make a decision ASAP. I'm open to suggestions of other products as well.

(As a side note, can anyone tell the difference between the two Samsungs?)

Thanks!

you can get a 19" monitor for cheaper than a few of those. Hanns G makes a good 19" widescreen. thats what i have. i love widescreen and i like the picture it has. but all the monitors you picked out seem good. get on some websites and see what other ppl think about it.
