USB Headphones and Vista incompat...

Hey everyone,

I recently installed Windows Vista Business, and I Must say I am quite impressed overall. Here are my system stats:

Abit KN8 Ulta motherboard
AMD 3800 x2 cpu stock
2 gigs RAM
eVGA GF 7600GT KO
160 SAmsung SATA II HDD

On this setup I get a 4.9 performance rating, with the weak spots being the RAM and CPU. That said, this thing works just great in the 3 or 4 games I play on it.

However there is one issue I just cannot figure out.

I have a set of Gigaware USB Stereo Headphones that I bought at Radio Shack about 4 months ago. I use them only for Star Wars Galaxies chat on Ventrillo. They worked fine on XP pro, but when plugged into my Vista machine I get an error in Device manager, stating "(!) C-Media USB Headphones". I can find no newer drivers on the extensive web searches I have done.

Oh and as an added bonus, when the headphones are plugged in, no new USB devices I plug in will work until the headphones are unplugged and the machine is rebooted. If I reboot the machine with the headset plugged in, the keyboard (USB Microsoft Comfort) won't work.

Fun huh?

Anyways I Would like to get the headphones working so if anyone has any ideas please let me know and thanks.
