My Computer is

XP3200+
DDR 400 RAM
A7n8x-e deluxe motherboard

When my computer starts and it says my system spec on the first screen that comes up (i.e. CPU speed, amount of RAM etc.) it says my memory is running at 200mhz. Shouldnt this be 400mhz? Or is it doubled or something?

Also it says its running my memory in dual channel mode. I have a dual channel motherboard but the memory is not a dual channel kit. Is this OK?

No, DDR400 memory runs at 200Mhz, but since it's Double Data Rate, everyone in sales says it's 400Mhz. Your system is running the right speed.

And yes, you don't need a dual channel kit to run in dual channel - just 2 of the same size/speed DIMMs will run (as you can see) dual channel just fine.

You relly only need a dual channel kit if you plan on overclocking your FSB, as they dual channel kits are often higher quality RAM that will OC beyond its rated abilities.
