My 700m screen has been cracked for a few years so I finally bought a replacement on Ebay (a Samsung LCD) and installed myself. Proud after installing in just 15mins after watching a short how-to video online. Not so proud after booting up and powering down 3x and the screen is just solid gray; hooked up to a separate monitor I've used without issues previously but no signal detected; just below the lower left hinge feels very, very hot - this has never happened before... Could I have damaged the video cable or inverter while replacing the LCD, or worse? Now I'm afraid to touch my laptop and may have to take it straight to a repair shop and just hope/pray they can recover my data. Help!? Any insight is appreciated!

Thanks,
Tricia
