20-inch Samsung versus 19-inch Viewsonic

I am trying to decide between to LCD monitors primary to be used for PC Gaming;

Here's the two I like so far;

Samsung SyncMaster 204B 20.1-inch
Max Resolution: 1600 x 1200 / 60 Hz
Image Contrast Ratio: 800:1
Response Time: 5 ms

....and.....

ViewSonic Xtreme VX922 19-inch
Max Resolution: 1280 x 1024
Image Contrast Ratio: 650:1
Response Time: 2 ms

Now, moving to the 20-inch I now get to a LCD capable for 1600x1200 for only about $50 more! Then Viewsonic has a quicker response time though.

Will I even notice the difference in Response Time when gaming?

Are there other monitors anyone recommends?

Also, the video card that will be paired up with this monitor is a 8800GTS 320MB. My problem, is that with the Viewsonic I can easily turn on all the eye-candy at 1280x1024 with this 8800GTS. But at 1600x1200, I think the GTS may struggle.
