More like a simple typo. The contrast ratio is quoted 100 higher, and response time is quoted 1ms slower by Best Buy.

If these typo are pervasive throughout the enitre Best Buy site, then they are either falsely advertising, or they need to hire people instead of relying on chimps and paying them with bananas.

The main spec i noticed was the viewing angle. BestBuy lists it as an 8 bit panel with 178 degree view angle's, where the Acer site lists it with 160 degree view angles. Which leads me to believe its a 6 bit panel. So does the x241wsd use an 8 bit or 6 bit panel?

I didn't notice the viewing angles. I was looking at the specs section which does list it.

Anywaste, based on Acer's website the x241wsd is a 6-bit LCD based on the viewing angles and the 5ms response time. The fastest response time for an 8-bit 24" LCD is 6ms.

Also, the price is too low for it to be an 8-bit LCD monitor especially in a retail store.

Looking back it, it does seem to be false advertisement since Best Buy list's it as an 8-bit panel.

I went to bestbuy today and was very disappointed. This is truely the biggest false advertisement ever. They put up a weekly ad and didn't even have any of the item in hand. I seen this problem before but I could always have them find it anywhere else. This item was not even in any store or even available online. Somehow it was all gone. They didnt even claim that it was sold out. They just didnt have it.

Item:
Gateway AMD Phenom X4 Quad-core
9100E Computer
