How do you use Quick Restore with an SATA drive? Although the SATA is recognized in the Bios, Quick Restore keeps on rebooting as if there is no drive there.

Do you have the BIOS set up to recognize the SATA drive as well as boot from it?

Yes I do, cable is firmly in place, and the drive is recognized by the BIOS at boot-up. Do you think the SATA drive is bad? It's a 100GB Seagate and is about 2 years old.

Couple of things. Run the diagnostic/repair software from Seagate, this should tell you if the drive is bad and sometimes can fix problems. 2nd, if the drive is a SATA 1.5 but the board connector is 3.0, you may have to set the jumpers and the Seagate website will tell you how they should be set.

Seems that drive is dead. Will replace and see what happens. Thanks for your help.
