IBM accelerates silicon to more than 500 GHz

IBM today claimed the crown for the world's fastest chip, at least in terms of clock speed: The company said it was able to achieve frequencies "above 500 GHz" by "cryogenically freezing" the chip. i always thought schools in the usa were so violent, must have been wrong. if in my country you took those gadgets with you to school, chances are, that you wouldnt keep them for long until somebody with a knife and/or five friends takes them from you.
