Problem with Klipsch speakers.

I've got a pair of the Klipsch 2.1 speakers. Over the past 6 months there is
increasing static when turning the volume control. They work but it's really
annoying. I've tried spraying contact cleaner in and around the control but
it hasn't helped. When I take the speakers apart I can't get to the guts of
the volume control and I don't want to ah heck anything up any worse than it
is.
Any suggestions?

Try taking the knob off, laying the thing on it's back so the controll points upward, and drizzling a few drops of WD-40 inside. WD-40 leaves a film behind which actually helps the switch clean itself as you turn it.
