i want to install an hda audio contoller for a dell optiplex 745 and i am using the
kb888111 from microsoft to accomplish the audio controller aspect.

Download the audio drivers from Dell. Can find them easily by using your service tag code on www.dell.com

The only MS audio support I know of would be the HD Audio subsystem.
