Hey guys, I've had this problem for a long time so i'd thought I'd ask you. I own some decent 3.1 Altec Lansing speakers. They sound fine, but the bass is just overwhelming. If it isnt near 0, it's blasting my table. When It is at 0, it also creates an annoying low-rumbling type hum. I think part of it has to do with surrounding cables and the resulting magnetic field, but I just cant get the bass to tame! I would imagine normal ball should be at about the 12 o'clock setting. If I were to set it that high, my music would be unlistenable.

Any suggestions?

Sound is onboard from my Gigabyte mobo. There is some EQ. You think that's what is causing it? I had the same issue with my laptop as well which was onboard.
