How can I force my computer to recognise my speakers and guitar (line-in connection) as 2 different hardware device-es instead of it just recognising my sound card?

your speakers and guitars arent' hardware devices, they are peripherals.

what is it you wan't to acheive exactly, to use the guitar to play throughyou speakers?

Well I have a distorser program for my guitar but since the program only recognises my sound card (in witch both speakers and guitar are connected) and it makes a very ugly repeating sound because of it recognising my speakers as an input device. I am 100 % sure that this is the problem.

hmm, perhaps it is with the wiring of your speakers. try plugging only half your speakers into your sound card and see if there are any malfunctioning connectors.
