Hi, Ive been looking for a true DVI dual link switch for my Benq 24" monitor that has an overscan problem on HDMI. DVI works flawlessly on it so I need a DVI dual link switch to switch between other devices. The monitor is HD 1080P capable so I need a switch thats capable of that and not converting the signal down to a lower refresh rate or anything like would happen on a single link connection with one transmitter I think.
Ive looked around on Newegg and searched on Google but all I can find are single link DVI switches. One claims to be Dual link but it has single link internals. I think that one is on Newegg still.
On the other hand if theres not any dual link switches around, could I just buy an HDMI switch and use HDMI to DVI dual link converters? I would have to put the HDMI switch between my video cards dual link DVI cable and my monitor with a hdmi cable with a hdmi to dvi dual link converter at the end of the cable for the monitor. Would that work with a hdmi cable, like any issues on 1080 resolutions? Would it have to be a certain spec cable like 1.2 or 1.3? Also could anyone recommend some good quality converters as well? Thanks a lot for any help!
