Meaning LCD, DLP, or what?
And, secondly, what kind of equivelent projectors are there in the four digit range (lower price, the possible), say, something that gives the exact same speed and picture quality as when you go to an imax theatre, only 1% as big. Example, a 4 foot by 2.25 foot screen projecting an Imax, HD like picture, for under 5000$. Is this just me dreaming or is that possible?

Okay, screens are 16:9 size wise, so how much would my dream cost in 16:9 inches? 32:18 inches? 64:36? etc etc
Some info would be helpful.

Also, I'm just interested in the technology behind IMAX. What kind of projector are they using? a high end 3chip DLP? Something that's not even available to buy for 500,000? I mean I'm just interested in the technology so that I can better understand what comes closest in my price range, and if it's possible to use spare parts to buildsuch things, etc etc. If anyone has any INFORMATION ON THE TECHNOLOGY USED WITH IMAX PROJCETORS, PLEASE SHARE IT!

For example, I would speculate that IMAX projectors use more than 1080p? If the technology is there, why aren't they selling 1180p? 1280p? etc etc? why are there only the two (720 and 1080) to choose from?
