I recently purchased a pair of 5.1 speakers for my computer and plugged them in, it is all working fine in DVD's, all of the speakers respond as they should, however when i try to play an MP3, have tried through both Winamp and Windows Media Player, the sound only plays through the left and right channels of the speakers and the subwoofer, i realise that MP3's are only 2 channel audio however i would like to spread the sound over all 5 sattelite speakers.

Is there any way to do this?

I have a Gigabyte 8I915P Pro motherboard with on-board Soundcard.

Thanks for your time.

I don't know about that chip on your motherboard, but remember this will be simulated 5.1. You might have some software from Gigabyte that tells you how to simulate a 5.1 sound.

IMHO, music that is recorded in stereo should be listened that way or sounds weird. I have a surround processor on my stereo and it can be fun for a little while, but gets tiring for music recorded in stereo.

Check the info that came with your motherboard. You might have to enable something.
