Problems with microfone

A few weeks ago my microfone suddenly stopped working. No scratching, no nothing. It just did't work anymore. So I ofcourse figured my mic had died.
Then I tried a mic I knew worked, but the problem remained the same.

So now my conclusion is, that the problem was my onboard soundcard, which, in my System Information, is just called "High Definition Audio Device" from Microsoft.

I have tried installing some drivers, but really can't find any working ones, and I really doubt that is the problem, since it just stopped working for no reason.

I have no problems with my sound at all it is just my microfone output that isn't working.

Anyone have an idea to a solution?
