Buying a 47" LG HDTV...

My parents have been shopping around lately for an HDTV. On bestbuy.com, we've found two TVs that look good:

I'm fairly knowledgeable when it comes to reading specifications, but I'm curious about a few things with these TVs. First of all, my mom tells me that the local Best Buy here has the second TV for $500 less than the first one. However, after reading the specs, I noticed that the first TV has a dynamic contrast ratio of 15,000:1, whereas the second TV only has a contrast ratio of 6,000:1. Which TV is a better buy? Both are 47", 1080p, and have the inputs we'll need for a TV. Should we buy the first TV at a cheaper price, or the second for a little bit more?

There is a decent markup on TVs at best buy. At the $2000 dollar price mark you're probably looking at 500-700 dollars worth of mark up. However, when a new generation of TV is released the older generation is dropped in price in order to move the remaining inventory. The one for 500 less is probably priced close to what bestbuy paid for it. Bestbuy does have a price matching policy if you find a better deal at a local or national retailer (not online). They'll match the price + 10% of the difference as long as you bring in the ad.
