Anyone had the opportunity to try these new features starting to pop up on hard drives? Reason I ask is I'm planning on buying a sys soon, and am wondering if the extra effort/price in obtaining an HD with said features merits the increase in performance. The HD, in particular, is this one:

...paired with this motherboard (that supports NCQ and SATA II - I'm assuming the mobo has to specifically support both NCQ and SATA II to take advantage of HD's that possess these traits):

What do you look for on a motherboard to determine whether it supports NCQ? Or is the motherboard not concerned with whether or not the hard drive has NCQ? In other words, if a hard drive has NCQ, will it work independent of the motherboard?

I was looking at the exact same HDD's, but I wanted to run a RAID 0 setup with 2 of the barracudas. I need some more information too.

Command Queing has little to no relevance outside the enterprise storage market simply because desktop systems do not generate long command queues.
