Dell has a huge problem with their Optiplex 620 power supplies. It's another capacitor issue. We have had nearly half of our 200 units fail in leass than 1 year. We are not alone, so this is no "fluke". Check out this thread on the Dell forums:
I've had a couple of failures in the last month on the Optiplex 620, but changing to a new power supply cord/block does not fix it. Spontaneous reboots and fans running at full speed -- IMHO -- this is a board issue, not a PSU issue.
Actually, Dell PSUs are surprisingly powerful. They are low wattage, but they can easily deliver the rated wattage, and have quite a bit on the 12v rail. I would say that Dell PSUs are quite good for what they were designed for - running basic to midrange computers reliably, with as few failures as possible but still with a reasonable cost.
