Hi all,

I'm trying to decide between an Olevia 252 (52 inch) and Olevia 747 (47 inch) tv to replace my non-1080p 42 inch tv. The difference in price between the two is about $200, so I'm wondering if it will be better to get the bigger screen (252, for $200 more) or the 'better' quality 747?

As I've been able to understand by searching reviews so far, the 747 has a much better processing chip, and I haven't really read anything negative about it. Overall though, will the 47 inch screen really be all that much bigger than the 42 inch one I currently have? This is what makes the 252 attractive for only $200 more.

The one thing that strikes me about the 252 is mention in some reviews about poor black level performance. This would be a key thing for me, as I've noted on my current 42 inch samsung plasma (its about 7 years old) that dark scenes in video games look almost completely black unless you ramp up the brightness, which makes things kind of gray. If I'd see something similar in the 252 it may make me consider the 747 a lot more, as I assume it would perform much better in these situations?

I'm kind of torn right now. I've been mulling over it all weekend, and as a last resort I wanted to ask some opinions. Right now, I really cant decide between the bigger screen, and the better quality. I think I'm confident that the pic quality on the 747 will be better (but HOW much better, if I'm mainly watching HD channels and playing xbox 360?), if the HD quality of these sets is similar, then I'll go with the bigger one. Please help.
Paul
