I have a Pantone Huey usb monitor calibration device. It attaches to the screen with 8 tiny suction cups (1/4" each). I emailled Pantone before I bought it to confirm that it can be used on LCD screens, and the store I bought it from also stated it was safe for LCD's.
Well I used it for about the fourth time recently, and today I noticed that when I'm looking at a large background of a light color (white is most noticable) I have these small 1/4" darker circles exactly where the suction cups of the device were. I've tried wiping off the screen, they don't clean off. They don't appear to be 'on' the screen as I can't see them when it's off. (I tried a microfiber cloth, distilled water spray, mild detergent, ammonia-free window cleaner, and even goo-be-gone but none of them made a difference)
This is really annoying because I took the extra steps to try and check this thing wouldn't damage my screen. I use this screen for design work daily and it's been driving me nuts having these dark circles right in the middle. The screen's been perfect other than this.
I'm assuming there's nothing that can be done, but on the offchance - anyone have a suggestion of something I may try?
