I am trying to format an old Compaq Armada M300 Laptop. Unfortunately there is no built in CD-ROM drive and I cannot get into the BIOS to configure it to boot up off an external USB CD ROM drive.
Howevere I have run into a problem.
First, which key do I press to get into the BIOS. Secondly how do I configure it to boot up off the external CD-ROM drive?? (this laptop has no internal CD-ROM drive)
Watch at bootup for the cursor to turn into a little white rectangle, then press the F10 key. (from another post). Let it boot from usb (if possible) by changing the setting in the boot options in the bios? (no message on power up like "press escape-key to set boot sequence" or similar?)
Nope, all it shows it the compaq logo with no message telling me what to press to go into BIOS. I do however get an option to boot from the network card but that is of little use to me! There is not even any floppy drive or anywhere to put an internal CD-ROM drive - how the hell did they install Windows on this laptop in the first place
