Dell inspiron 1545 webcam not working

my Webcam is not working, the computer keeps telling me to plug in a support device

Hi. I had the same problem and looked EVERYWHERE for a solution. After a week I found what REALLY works. Power off laptop and remove battery. Hold down power button for 10-30 seconds to remove any built up charge. Now, remove the 6 screws around the outer edge of the frame surrounding the screen. Take a slim flat bladed screwdriver (or guitar pick) and slide around edges of frame, then GENTLY pull outer frame away from LCD screen. You should be able to see the webcam and where it plugs into screen. Slide plug straight up and disconnect. Now, replace battery and power on laptop. While on, plug cable back in fully until you hear a click. Windows should now find and install driver automatically. Reassemble frame then download the other webcam driver from Dell for your laptop (under Input). Then download Webcam Central. Should be back to normal now.

That really worked for me as well. i had the same problem and you helped to resolve my issue
