Handycam shows not recordeble traing to burn a movie

I got A handycam DCR-HC20 and went it's reary to recorde to the CD-R it it's telling me the CD-R is not recordeble and I trait A DVD-R in it keeps sein the same thing "NOT RECORDEBLE" on my handycam, I am using picture packege I don't know if I need a burned packege, I need healp thanks.

hmmm, sounds like the disk is the wrong type or the laser don't work, do you have a Firwire or USB attach point, maybe you can d/l the movie to your computer and burn it there
