I want to get a big flat screen TV to use as a monitor. I have an old P3 800Mhz computer and a new Macbook Pro (Core 2 duo) that I want to use with it. I have read on here that people recommend buying televisions instead of monitors. Can someone please tell me what kind of cords I would need to do this and which TVs I can get?

Any TV that has a VGA, HDMI or DVI connector will work with a graphics card that has any of those ports. I have a 32'' Dell HDTV hooked up to a GeForce 6800 via VGA.
