I recently purchased a 1 GB memory card from Lexar and took pictures of our trip along hwy 1 in California. I removed the card, and nothing will read it. I stick in back in the camera and it says the card needs formatting and I will loose all pictures. Any suggestions?

if you can see the pictures on the camera's LCD then you can usually use the USB connection to transfer the pictures, if you can't then you don't have any pictures in the camera and it's a moot point
