access bios hp pavilion a620n?

I've got an hp machine that won't boot due to cpu fan "failed" (it's running, but fast, even with a new one). hp site tells me to edit bios. never done that before. I've tried F1, F10, and F11, but nothing lets me in before the machine shuts down after warning about the failed cpu fan. What is the right key stroke to get me into bios settings? Thanks.
